पर दोस्तों कभी कभी क्या होता है कि sentence में जो subject होता है वो एक verb होती है |

Reading is a good habit.

पर जैसा कि हम जानते है कि subject में या तो हम noun का use करते है या फिर pronoun का |

इसलिए हम जब भी किसी verb में ing लगाकर उसे एक noun की तरह use करते है तब हम इसे Gerund कहते है |

अगर हम इसे to + verb के साथ बनाते है तब हम इसे infinitive कहते है |

यह Gerund , infinitive , अथवा participle subject अथवा object दोनों part में use हो सकती है |

पर ऐसा नहीं है कि to के साथ verb का use ही हमेशा infinitive होगा |

पर जब कभी objective पार्ट में केवल verb का use होता है तो हम उसे bare infinitive कहते है |

इसके अलावा perfect inifitive के बारे में भी देखेंगे जिसमे हम to have के साथ verb की third form का use करते है |

इसके अलावा हम participle फॉर्म भी देखेंगे | participle को हम verb और adjective दोनों की तरह use करते है |

Present participle में verb के साथ ing का use करते है |

यह बिलकुल Gerund के तरह ही होता है |

पर अंतर यह होता है कि Gerund में इसको हम noun की तरह use करते है|

और Present participle में इसे हम या तो verb अथवा adjective की तरह use करते है |

To play football is good for health – Infinitive, noun infinitive

I love playing football – Gerund objective

I love to play football – Incorrect sentence

I would love to play football – Noun Infinitive, As per the rule for verb love

I came to play with you – Adverbial infinitive

I have some cloths to wash – Adjectival infinitive

He can help you finish the work – Bare infinitive

We pretended to have finished the homework – Perfect infinitive

Having finished it, I started something new – perfect participle

It is easy to meet you – Adjectival infinitive

My hearth is broken – past participle adjective
